WHAT DEFINES A CHURCH?
The word "Church" in the Bible comes from the Greek word "Ecclesia", which means a 'called out company or assembly.'
Wherever it is used in the Bible it refers to people (1 Corinthians 1:2; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Galatians 1:1-2, Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 5:25, 32). for the purpose of perfecting or training the believers, doing the work of the ministry, and strengthening of the church body (Ephesians 4:11-14).
By Biblical definition if you have ever been blessed by our daily 2-3 hour on-line live church broadcast; if you have ever been blessed by attending any of our Ministry Conferences held in a variety of locations, if you have ever received instruction from any of our archived Church Broadcasts; if you have partaken of the school of ministry classes; if you have ever congregated with fellow believers on our 24/7 church chats; if you have grown in your faith and walk in Christ as a servant, soldier, man or woman of God through the teachings, preaching and ministering of this ministry then by biblical definition we are YOUR Church.
WHY CHURCH MEMBERSHIP?
Church membership is a statement of solidarity and like-mindedness (see Philippians 2:2).
The Body of Christ (Romans 12:5) —is composed of all true believers in Christ, and Christian churches in the world today are to be microcosm of the Body of Christ, The Church.
As believers, we have our names written in the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 20:12), and that is what is most important. However, it is also important to commit to a local church where we can affirm our belonging to a biblically sound and Holy Spirit led body of believers, give of our resources and serve others.
Membership in a local church is a way of voluntarily placing oneself under the spiritual authority of a pastor. An on-line church is no different. Church membership is a way of identifying oneself with a local body of believers and of making oneself accountable to proper spiritual leadership.
Church membership is not required of Christians. It is simply a way of saying, “I am a Christian, and I believe this church is a God-led church.”
